Dhaka University has unveiled a monument consisting of names of all of its staffs who embraced martyrdom during the nine months of Liberation War in 1971.
The university’s Vice Chancellor AAMS Arefin Siddique inaugurated the monument, titled ‘Smriti Chiranton’, at the VC Chattar yessterday.
The monument, now open to public, will showcase the record of all the professors, officials, staffs and other civilians who were killed inside the Dhaka University during 1971.
Soon, families of the martyrs and the university authorities will publish a catalogue for the visitors where the facts of Pakistani army and their local collaborators’ brutality will be described.
If any name is missing from the list, the authorities will be open to suggestion.
