No Shakib in squad for second Test

Bangladesh Cricket Board announces the squad for the second Test against Sri Lanka and Shakib Al Hasan, who missed the first Test due to an injury has also been excluded from the second Test at Dhaka.

The all-rounder suffered an injury to his little finger during the tri-series final against Sri Lanka. There was to be an assessment of Shakib’s injury a week after the injury and the all-rounder has likely not recovered from the injury.

Bangladesh have included batsman Sabbir Rahman in the squad in place of the injured Shakib. Sunzamul Islam has been dropped for the second Test while veteran left-armer Abdur Razzak kept his spot.

Bangladesh Squad: Mahmudullah Riyad(Capt), Tamim Iqbal, Mushfiqur Rahim, Imrul Kayes, Sabbir Rahman, Mustafizur Rahman, Rubel Hossain, Taijul Islam, Mehedi Hasan, Liton Das, Mominul Haque, Mosaddek Hossain, Abdur Razzak, Kamrul Islam, Naeem Hasan.
