Final one-dayer cancelled after hosts’ 110-run win

The fifth and final one-day between visiting South Africa women's Emerging team and Bangladesh women's Emerging team has been cancelled owing to impending flight restrictions which are due to come into effect from April 14 as part of lockdown protocols, a BCB press release informed. Earlier today, the hosts won their fourth straight match against the visitors following a 110-run win at the Sylhet International Cricket Stadium following player of the match Nigar Sultana's unbeaten ton.

"As agreed by the Bangladesh Cricket Board and Cricket South Africa (CSA), the fifth and final one day match of the Women's Emerging Teams series between South Africa and Bangladesh scheduled on 13 April in Sylhet has been cancelled.

"The decision to cancel the last match was taken to accommodate the visiting side's return home before the suspension of international flight operations take effect as part of the Covid-19 restrictions in Bangladesh."

The Bangladesh Emerging Team had taken an unassailable 4-0 lead in the series following Sultana's unbeaten 101 off 132 deliveries, her innings laced with eight fours and a six. Her innings along with Murshida Khatun's 41, Sobhana Mostary's 45 and Lata Mondal's 25, propelled Bangladesh to 236 for four. Fahima Khatun's four-wicket haul for 29 runs and Salma's two for 19, saw the hosts bowl the visitors out for 126 in 46.5 overs.
