Abdur Razzaq, father of writer Mushtaq Ahmed who was arrested in a case filed under the Digital Security Act and later died in jail, passed away tonight at 8:40pm following a heart attack.
He was 89 years old.
Abdur Razzak had been infected with coronavirus and his oxygen levels were steadily dropping. He died on the way to Evercare Hospital from City Hospital.
The matter was confirmed to The Daily Star by Mushtaq's friend Dr Flora Tasnim and cartoonist Ahmed Kabir Kishore's elder brother, writer Ahsan Kabir.
