A member of detective branch (DB) of police was injured as alleged miscreants attacked a team of DB in North Badda of Dhaka this evening.
Bahauddin Faruqui, 42, a DB inspector was injured when the miscreants attacked him with machetes around 8:30am, a source at the Dhaka Medical College Hospital (DMCH) told The Daily Star.
The attackers also fired gunshots at the detectives, it said.
The DB team went there to conduct a raid based on information they had obtained from a person they detained earlier, Abdul Jalil, officer-in-charge (OC) of Badda Police Station told the correspondent.
Law enforcers have cordoned off a building near Uttar Badda Purbapara Baitul Mamur Mosque in the area suspecting the attackers were hiding inside, the OC said.
