The Institute of Business Administration of Jahangirnagar University (IBA JU) organised “Pran Mango Fruit Drink Presents DigiMark, The Digital Marketing Symposium” on April 3, 2018, at the Seminar Hall of Zahiar Raihan Auditorium of JU. The event was powered by Torun Digital.
In this era of science, technology, and globalisation, digital marketing is quite crucial. Through this initiative, IBA JU established a platform of knowledge for the future business leaders to excel and grow boundlessly in this most in-demand and globalised sector of business.
The seminar focused on the various aspects of marketing in digital platforms to enlighten participants in this relatively new field and prepare them for a competitive future. The Director of IBA JU, Dr Md Motaher Hossain, inaugurated the event with an opening speech. The event was chaired by him. Other intellectuals presented their expert knowledge in their respective fields in the event as keynote speakers and panel members.
The seminar started with the session “Demystifying Digital Marketing” by Dr Mohammad Baktiar Rana, Associate Professor, Institute of Business Administration, Jahangirnagar University, enlightening participants with his extensive knowledge and command.
The second session was titled “The Technicalities of Virtual Business and Digital Marketing” by Shabab Din Shareq, Senior Manager, Brand and Communication at Pickaboo.com, explaining the inner workings and product design of the virtual world to the participants.
Furthermore, the third session was titled “Leveraging Content and Campaigns Through Digital Channels” and taken by Shuvashish Roy, Digital Marketing Manager, The Daily Star. Through his session and surprise quizzes he not only provided extensive knowledge about digital marketing channels to the participants but also created an engaging atmosphere.
The last segment of the event was the “Entrepreneurs' Hub”, an open-ended and interesting discussion that included Md Saimum Hossain, Co-Founder and Head of Business, GEEKY Social and Faculty Member, Faculty of Business Studies, University of Dhaka; Abir Mazumder, Co-Founder and Managing Partner of Beatnik and CEO of Buzz Ally Ltd; and Ms Archita Kundu Ripa, Business Development Manager, X. She is one of the first female digital marketeers of our country.
