There is camaraderie between Bangladesh and India cricket players outside of the field. Bangladesh cricketer Sabbir Rahman shared a picture of him and former India captain MS Dhoni on facebook with the caption ‘with world's legend MS7’.
He followed up that caption with some smile emojis for good measure.
The picture was a reminder of Mashrafe Mortaza’s words from just a few days earlier when he won the ‘Sera Bengali’ award from Kolkata’s ABP channel.
“We have a very good relation with the Indian players. We even chatted with them after the last match between us in Birmingham. Yuvraj is still a very good friend of mine. We do sledging in the field but that doesn’t exceed the bar,” Mortaza had said.
The relationship of adviration between Dhoni and Sabbir goes both ways when back in 2015 the then India captain Dhoni called Bangladesh all-rounder Sabbir Rahman to say that he loved the batting attitude of the right-hander.
"He [Dhoni] called me during training at Mirpur ahead of the third and final ODI and said he likes my attitude and approach to batting and advised me to try finish matches as much as possible," said an excited Sabbir.
Sabbir has a lot of respect for the MS Dhoni, who captained India to both the T20 and ODI World Cup win.
