Zareen Anan Khan Nairita

Zareen Anan Khan Nairita first came into attention with the song “Jajabor Pakhna” from the telefilm “Monkey Bizness” in 2015. Both the song and the telefilm were massive hits, spiraling her to recognition as a promising upcoming singer. Star Showbiz catches up with Nairita for a little chat.

Are you working on any new songs at the moment?

I have recently collaborated with Studio58 for the song “Keu Jane Na”, which will be featured in “Close Up Kache Ashar Golpo”. It was sung by me and Arafat Mohsin, and has gotten a fantastic response from the audience.

Tell us about your first song, “Jajabor Pakhna”.

(Laughs) There's nothing much to say, really. It really changed my life, and I am proud to have sung this amazing song. I am grateful to Studio58 for believing that I could pull it off. I'll tell you about a funny incident. I was sitting in a bus this one time; the song had just come out then. The person sitting next to me was listening to Jajabor Pakhna, and then suddenly asked me “Hey isn't this song really amazing”? I smiled and nodded. Small things like these have the capacity to strengthen your desires and passion in a ridiculous scale.

Besides singing, do you have any hobbies?

I have 7 adorable kittens. These furballs keep me pretty busy, but I also love painting in the little spare time that I have.

Who is your biggest inspiration in music?

My biggest inspiration is my family, especially my mother. She wanted me to learn music and though I wasn't that interested, she forced me to learn to sing. I did not understand her passion towards music back then. But learning to sing and practicing everyday eventually made me fall in love with music.

What would you say is the toughest thing about being an aspiring singer?

The toughest thing about being an aspiring singer is probably not seeing a very bright financial future. There are no endorsements. If I do release an album and it is a hit, the songs are probably going to be pirated. So I am constantly pressured mentally to seek other career paths beside music which eventually leads to me not being able to give my 100% creative output.

What can fans expect from you in the future?

Hopefully a solo album! I am working on a few projects as of now, and I really want to release an album in the near future. Please stay tuned for that!
