Railway worker killed after being hit by a train in Dinajpur

A railway employee was killed today after a train hit him at Dinajpur's Hili Railway Station when he was crossing the tracks during a lunch break, police said.

The deceased was identified as Jahangir Alam (42), son of late Arman Ali of Daspukur village under Rajshahi Sadar upazila.

Sub-inspector Maidul Islam, Hili GRP outpost in-charge, said repair work of railway sleepers was underway at the station and Jahangir was involved in the work.

At lunch break, Jahangir was crossing the tracks when Parbatipur-bound Rupsha train coming from Khulna knocked him down.

Locals took him to Hakimpur Upazila Health Complex where the duty doctor declared him dead.
