Boy hurt in bomb blast

A 10-year-old boy sustained serious injuries in a crude bomb explosion at Saharbati village in Gangni upazila of Meherpur yesterday.

Victim Sumon Ahmed, son of widow Zarina Khatun, is now undergoing treatment at Kushtia Medical College Hospital.

Zarina said Sumon found two things like tennis balls wrapped with red colour tape under a palm tree near their house.

He brought them to his house. When he was cleaning the balls with water, one of them exploded all of a sudden.

The boy suffered serious burns on his right hand, said Officer-in-Charge of Gangni Police Station Harendranath Sarker.
