Police detained 14 people, including 10 SSC examinees, in Tangail and Jamalpur yesterday and the day before for their alleged involvement in leaking SSC question papers of Islamic Studies and English second paper.
Our Tangail correspondent reported that, police detained two teachers of a local coaching centre in Bhuapur upazila yesterday for their alleged involvement in leaking Islamic Studies question paper.
The arrestees are Shahidul Islam, 25, and Rasel Parvez Swadhin, 38.
A police team, acting on a tip-off, detained Shahidul from Beltola village and seized a mobile phone set, Bhuapur Assistant Commissioner (land) Sharif Ahmed said.
"After examining the mobile device we found a complete set of Islamic Studies question paper," he said.
According to Shahidul's statement, police later detained Rasel from Bagbari village.
In Jamalpur, police detained 10 SSC examinees in Dewanganj upazila on Wednesday.
All the arrestees were appearing in the exam from Zeel Bangla Sugar Mill High School.
On secret information, police detained Tarequl from Dewanganj Government High School Centre and seized his mobile phone.
After searching the device, police found a set of English second paper question paper with answers, Jamalpur Superintendent of Police (SP) Delwar Hossain said at a press conference yesterday.
Later, following information provided by Tarequl, police detained nine other examinees from the same centre, the SP said.
Meanwhile, police detained a private university student in Madaripur and a madrasa teacher in Bogra and seized a set of leaked question papers on Wednesday, reports our correspondents.
