Road crashes kill 5

At least five persons, including a woman were killed in separate road accidents across the country yesterday.

In Dinajpur, Sadequl Islam, 32, was killed when a rock laden speeding truck lost control on the steering and rammed into a roadside hotel in Parbatipur upazila, police said.

The incident also injured Md Mamun, 22, who was taken to a local hospital. 

In Mymensingh, Sheuly Akhter, 45, was killed when a Kishoreganj bound bus from Mymensingh crushed her on Mymensingh-Kishoreganj road in Ishwarganj upazila, police said quoting locals. 

In Chattogram, Md Risat, 35, died after an unidentified vehicle ran him over at the WASA intersection in the port city, reports our local correspondent. He was taken to Chattogram Medical College and Hospital (CMCH) where the doctors pronounced him dead, police said.

In another incident at New Market intersection in Chattogram, Kabir Hossain, 21, was killed as an unidentified vehicle ran him over, police said.

Meanwhile in Jamalpur, Titu, 22, driver of a human hauler, was killed after a speeding truck rammed the three-wheeler on Jamalpur-Dewanganj road, police quoted locals as saying.  Locals rescued and took him to a hospital but he succumbed to him injuries on the way, police said.
