HSC Exam: 179 expelled on fourth day

A total of 179 candidates were expelled from the examination centres on the fourth day of HSC examination, for resorting to unfair means.

The authorities yesterday witnessed the highest number of HSC candidates to be expelled in one day across the country, during the English first paper exam.

Of those expelled, 67 candidates were from Dhaka board while 52 from technical board.

A total of 32 students were expelled from one centre in the capital under the Dhaka board for carrying cellphones, said board officials.

The centre secretary was relieved for not searching the students before letting them inside the hall, they added.

Thirteen each were expelled from Dinajpur and Barishal boards, 12 from Jashore, seven each from Rajshahi and Cumilla, six from Chattogram and two from Sylhet, reports of inter-education board coordination subcommittee said.
