Hamidul Haque, a valiant freedom fighter from Tangail, died of old age complications yesterday at a city hospital, aged 75, said a press release.
He left behind his wife, four daughters, a son and numerous well wishers to mourn his death.
Hamidul of Kachua village under Sakhipur upazila joined the Liberation War of 1971 when he was a teacher at Kachua Public High School.
After the independence, he received the Bir Protik award for gallantry in the Liberation War.
He will be buried at his family graveyard at Kachua with state honour after a namaz-e-janaza after the Asr prayers.
