Two constables were closed to police lines after a bdnews24.com journalist submitted a harassment complaint in Chittagong city yesterday.

Mostafa Yousuf accused the duo of searching him for drugs several times bringing him down from a bus and taking him inside a check post under Chandgaon Police Station and trying to put an object in his pockets.

He said he was let go after he revealed his identity. In charge of the check post, Sub-inspector Mohammed Sentu, denied the allegations and termed it a “misunderstanding”.

Assistant Commissioner Zahangir Alam said they had launched a probe. Allegations of police framing people with yaba to earn a quick buck was discussed in the district law and order meeting last October.
