Freed after they gave undertakings

Rapid Action Battalion yesterday released 16 foreign nationals hours after detaining them in Cox’s Bazar on the charge of working in the Rohingya camps without any permission.

Rab detained the eight US, six British and two German nationals and handed them over to Ukhia police for the next course of action, said Maj Ruhul Amin, commander of Rab Cox’s Bazar camp.

The foreign nationals had been working in Rohingya camps illegally, he said.
