5 Rohingyas detained on border

They entered Bangladesh from India

Border Guard Bangladesh detained five Rohingyas including two toddlers, who claimed to have entered the country through the border with India on Thursday.

Two Rohingya women and a man were aimlessly walking with two babies in the border area of Ghasuria in Dinajpur's Hakimpur upazila when they were detained, Razani Kanta, camp commander of BGB Ghasuria Border Outpost, told The Daily Star.

He added that BGB men picked them up from near 288 main pillars of India-Bangladesh border and took to BGB camp.

The detained Rohingas are Nur Fatema, 25, Abul Haque, 38, Nur Fatema, 23, Fahat Hossain, 4, and Mymulah, 2.

They claimed to have fled to India from Myanmar about a couple of weeks ago and entered Bangladesh Thursday morning after learning that their relatives were in Cox's Bazar, Razani Kanta added.
